Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi in Farrukhabad (U.P) Part 12

Addressing a Congress workers’ rally at Farrukhabad Uttar Pradesh on the fourth day of his second phase of the campaign for Congress, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that the state can surge ahead only if the leaders think with long term vision. Rahul Gandhi promised that a Congress government will bring back the lost glory of Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi continued with his leader-aam aadmi theory and reiterated that leaders should go to the people to realize their difficulties. “Till a leader goes to the poor, stays with them, eats at their home and drinks water from their houses and get sick, he will not understand poverty,” emphasized Rahul Gandhi. He added that for those who travel by Helicopter feels that all is well. But they do not realize the reality. They sit in big bungalows in Lucknow and think that everything is fine. To prove his point he cited an example “I went to a hospital in UP where some painting and renovation works were going on. I went inside. There were no doctors, patients or nurses. Dogs were scampering inside. I asked them what is going on. They said that Mayawati is on a tour to this area and she will be visiting the hospital and therefore the renovation. As she was expected to take the road route so the roads were being repaired and the hospital building was being painted.”

Why cannot they get a job here in their own state? You trusted BJP, BSP and SP. All talk about particular caste or religion only and not about the people as a whole. What happened? No roads, electricity, water, justice or jobs and so no development.”
