At Kisan rally, Rahul Gandhi slams anti-farmer Modi govt

Calling Narendra Modi-led NDA government as "anti-farmer" and "pro industrialist", Congress on Sunday declared full scale war against it over Land Acquisition Bill with Rahul Gandhi accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of bringing ordinance on it to pay back 'loan' of industrialists. "I tell you how Modi ji won the election. He took loans of thousands of crores from big industrialists from which his marketing was done. How will he pay back that loan now? He will do it by giving your land to those top industrialists. He wants to weaken the farmers, then snach their land and give it to his industrialist friends," he said addressing a farmers' rally here.

In Kerala, Rahul Gandhi addresses fishermen Thrissur, targets Modi govt

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a fishermen's gathering at a village in Kerala's Thrissur. “Land is becoming very valuable and it is owned by farmers, they have spent last 50-60 yrs working on it. Central government wants to take their land away. So we are fighting them. The kisan (farmer) is asking me why is the NDA government intent on destroying us. Why are they not giving us the correct Minimum Support Price? Why are they not giving us compensation when rain and hail destroys our crops?” said the Congress leader.

Chhattisgarh Sterlization deaths: Rahul Gandhi slams state govt

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visited Bilaspur on Saturday where botched sterilization surgeries left 13 women dead. The Congress leader slammed the state government for the tragedy. “I am meeting people since morning, I’m very saddened by things they told me. Sterilisation deaths isn't just a case of medical negligence, but a case of corruption. Health Minister and the govt responsible for the incident in Bilaspur and they should be answerable. Govt doesn't want to accept its responsibility and trying to hide things. When mother of a family suffer from anything, the entire family gets hurt”, said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi at Buldana, Maharashtra, pulls up Modi over false promises

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi wehile addressing a mammoth congress rally in Buldana as part of his ongoing campaign for the assembly polls in Maharashtra, launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of double standards. Rahul Gandhi said that though Modi had promised to construct a huge statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he was working against the principles that the leader stood for. “Our opposition pays tribute to the great soul of the country, Mahatma Gandhi, but they work against Gandhian principles. Congress has always worshipped the philosophy, values and principles of such great souls. This is the difference between the Congress and the opposition,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ceasefire violations on Sunday while addressing a big election rally at Kalanwali, (Sirsa) in Haryana as part of his ongoing campaign for the upcoming assembly polls in the state and said that the onslaught from Pakistan restarted a day after the Prime Minister assured the country that things were back to normalcy. He also attacked Modi over incursions on the India-China border, alleging that the Prime Minister did not raise the issue with the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

There are casualties but still Modi says ‘jaldi thik ho jayega’,” he said. “Our jawans are being killed, our children are being slaughtered,” he said. “Earlier achhe din (good times) were promised. Now people laugh at this slogan,” said the Congress leader.

The Congress leader said the Hooda government had given 3.8 lakh poor families 100 square yard plot, besides free medicines to poor. He touched upon the development works initiated by the Congress government in Sirsa region during the past ten years including setting up of a nuclear power plant at Fatehabad, Sirsa-Agroha-Fatehabad rail line, a hosiery cluster, two colleges and a skill development centre, among others.

Jammu and Kashmir: Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi assures full support to flood-affected people

Anantnag (J&K): Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi visited Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since it was struck by devastating floods on Monday and assured that their party is with the people of the state and assured all help to mitigate their suffering."Congress party is with you. We will take up your issues with the Government and help you in whichever way we can," Rahul said while addressing a gathering of flood affected people at Dehruna village. He said the party shares the grief of the people and has been helping them since the floods hit the Valley. "Our organisation, including Congress party, Youth and Women Congress, NSUI, RGF and local leaders have been working here since the floods hit. It is a time of grief and we came here to see for ourselves (the destruction caused by floods). We will visit other places as well," said Rahul Gandhi.

"This government has forgotten its promises on corruption, on power, on water, on prices. 100 days are over, where is the result? Vegetables are more expensive and there are serious power and water crises," said Rahul Gandhi.

Congresss Vice President Rahul Gandhi accompanied with sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited Barolia village in Jamo area of Amethi, where fire incident had taken place 65 houses were gutted on May 19 and met victims and assured them of all help. They were in Amethi after the results of the Lok Sabha polls to thank voters for supporting Rahul Gandhi for the third consecutive terms. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra asked the district officials to get houses allotted to the villagers under the Indira Awas Yojana. "We will apply on their behalf for allotment of houses under the Indira Awas Yojana," she said. Both the leaders handed over a bag of relief material to the affected people.
