Priyanka Gandhi can definitely play big role in Indian politics

“Reject the leaders who reject you,” is what Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kept on telling the people during her campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the recently held assembly polls. This statement talks volumes. The progressive vision and the clarity about concept of democracy, both come out from this statement. Yes, Priyanka Gandhi is a leader who realizes the strength of democracy and the power of vote which is crucial for bringing in changes in our system. Beyond doubt one can also argue that she has got tremendous potential to become an outstanding leader in Indian politics. If she takes such a decision that will be the most appropriate one for strengthening the democracy and will be very much beneficial for the poor and underprivileged in our country.

When one analyses the campaigns of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra it becomes very clear that her main focus was development. She expressed disappointment over the bad state of affairs in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She had examples to list out to prove what she says was correct. Whether it is the case of electricity related issues in Raebareli or the issue of dilapidated roads in the region, she could pin point what is lacking in the state. She could convince the people what was going wrong in Raebareli, the constituency of her mother, Sonia Gandhi. The people became very clear that the development works in their constituency is not reaping the expected benefits despite the sincere efforts from their MP Sonia Gandhi, because of the careless attitude of the non-Congress state government. Definitely Priyanka Gandhi had substantial evidences to prove her point. Same is the case with Amethi too, the parliament constituency of her brother Rahul Gandhi.

Yes, Priyanka Gandhi knows well how to convince people. The people give her a patient hearing. They loved to interact with her, talk to her and they feel happy to have a glimpse of their favourite leader. Like her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi also loved to go to the people, interact with them to understand their grievances. She also argued that the leaders should go to the people to know their issues and if a leader stops going to the people, she asked the people, to reject him. She is right. In democracy the real power is in the hands of the people. That is what she always tried to tell the people.

When Priyanka Gandhi was given the responsibility to look after the affairs in Amethi and Raebareli during the last UP assembly polls, she could handle it in a quite appreciable manner. All her public meetings - she preferred to address small gatherings at maximum places – attracted a good number of enthusiastic crowd. No one can be blamed if they compare her with Late Indira Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi, they say, is having the same charisma and potential, quite similar to late Congress leader – Indira Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had urged the people to ‘think properly and intelligently before casting your votes” - a clear message to remind the people about the strength of votes. She could help people to learn about their role in a democracy. They could realise after listening to Priyanka Gandhi that if people want a change, they can do so. That is the strength of democracy and the importance of elections, people told themselves. That is what our democracy needs to strengthen itself and that is what Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been effectively practicing.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Non-Congress Government worked only for their own interests

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who has been campaigning for Congress in Amethi and Raebareli, the respective parliament constituencies of her brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi, held the non-Congress rule in the past 22 years responsible for the bad state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh.

Referring to the SP and BSP regimes, she said, “You have experienced the regimes of different political parties. You trusted SP, but you got anarchy. Those who are supposed to ensure your safety and security victimized you, instead. Then you reposed your faith in BSP. But you witnessed rampant corruption. The Central funds and welfare schemes never reached you”.

“This is an opportunity for you after 22 years to bring about a change. A Congress Government in U.P can bring in fabulous changes in the state. The state will be transformed, the course of politics will be refined and your state will be progressed. Raebareli also will witness faster development in case a Congress government is formed in U.P,” asserted Priyanka Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi joins daughter Priyanka Gandhi to campaign for UP assembly polls

For the first time in the campaigning for the ongoing UP assembly polls, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday attended an election meeting together at Raebareli. Sonia Gandhi held all the non-Congress parties like BSP, SP and BJP, that ruled Uttar Pradesh in the past 22 years, responsible for the present pathetic state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh.

“Thank you very much for the warm welcome extended to me. My relation with Raebareli is known to the entire world. I can confidently say that this region has always stood with me and I also have tried my level best to support you from the core of my heart. I have now come to you at a crucial time of elections” she said, starting her address.

“During elections those people, who never bothered about your worries and problems in the past five years, also approach you for your support. I feel sad to see the pathetic state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh. The parties which ruled the state for more than two decades destroyed the entire state. The state of Uttar Pradesh was not like this when Congress was in power. Nobody had imagined this sacred place of legendary Pandit Jawar Lal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi will witness such deteriorated conditions like we see now,” she said.
