Anna’s recent utterances have overtone of partisan politician: Congress

It had so far been claimed that Anna Hazare was a social activist who had nothing to do with politics. But recently same Hazare has announced that he will ask people not to support Congress. This is unfortunate and unworthy for a man of his stature said a Congress press relase. It brings him down from the Gandhian perch of moral superiority that he had sought to occupy, and places him squarely in the midst of politics added Congress. Anna Hazare's threat would mean, willy nilly, effective support for the main opposition party, the BJP. It removes the aura of a non-partisan, 'not aligned to any party' campaign that his efforts and fasts lay claim to, or at least sought to acquire. In fact Anna’s insistence that Lokpal Bill must be passed by winter session itself does not seem to be correct. There is a general perception that his methods and demands also tantamount to challenging, even undermining, the supremacy of Parliament.
