If a political party can be named for championing of the people’s causes especially of poor people in rural and urban areas then it is only the Congress party and the Congress government that can claim credit for it. It is the only party of ‘aam aadmi’ which has been and continue to work for common men and women, common issues of all the people whether they reside in rural and urban areas. Other parties have only been talking about poor people without doing anything for them.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi have been taking round of the country for this purpose. Rahul Gandhi has stood with people in their fight against injustice. He has been star campaigner for the Congress party. During last Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana Congress won 9 out of 11 seats where Rahul Gandhi campaigned. Similarly during recent assembly elections in Assam and Kerala as a result of Rahul Gandhi’s campaigning Congress have formed governments in both of these states. Certainly persona of Rahul Gandhi is catching on day by day.
