Congress President while addressing a rally in Nathnagar, Bhagalpur said that since ancient times, the land of Bihar has provided ideological and ethical leadership not only to India, but to the world as well. But today, Bihar is gripped with opportunistic politics.
Further she said that Bapu started the national freedom movement from Bihar. But today’s Bihar and its politics is being guided by casteism and communalism. She reminded that such regressive politics doesnot do any good for the nation or for the State and more so for the common man. Therefore, this brand of politics needs to be negated. She exhorted the people of Bihar that they have various options before them in this election.
One option is of Congress party which since inception has believed in the upliftment of the poor, welfare of the common man and to ensure inclusive growth of the nation.
She reiterated that Congress Party stands for progress, secularism and aam aadmi. To ensure that not even a single person should go hungry she said that a comprehensive Food Security Bill is being worked upon.
She pointed that the Central government has left no stone unturned in sending funds for development of Bihar and its people. But unfortunately nothing has been done for the improvement of the power situation, drinking water, health and education in the last 5 years.
She said that reality is far from the public postures of the state government. To drive home the point she quoted – “Haathi ke daant khane ke kuch aur, dikhane ke kuch aur”.
