Blaming other parties for only making noise about corruption, Congress (I) President Sonia Gandhi has said her party alone is committed to eradicate corruption. Since Congress (I)-led UPA government came to power in 2004, it has brought a number of legislations and measures to ensure good governance in the country. “Corruption is indeed a plague of public life and we are committed to eradicate it,” she said adding “Our actions have shown this. The Right to Information (RTI), which our government brought in, places in hands of the people a powerful weapon against corruption." She highlighted that Congress (I) is also bringing several other legislations to prevent corruption and make governance effective. These include legislations for Citizens’ Grievance Redressal, Public Procurement, Right to Food Security etc. She said people have now seen the real face of BJP which although talked of ending corruption, did not support strong Lokpal Bill in the Parliament.
