Congress (I) always concerned for development of UP: Rahul Gandhi

Flaying parties like BSP, SP and BJP for being only interested in grabbing power in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has hailed his party for contributing to overall development and progress of Uttar Pradesh. This is despite the fact that Congress (I)-led UPA government has done it at central government level from Delhi, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a rally in Chandauli on February 9 for the ongoing Assembly elections 2012. He said Congress (I) brought a series of schemes to uplift the poor and for the development of entire state. “In 2004, you made our government; we waved off your loans, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), Bundelkhand package, Sachar commission, reservation, right to food, right to education, right to information.” “The state will progress much faster when your voices will reach Lucknow and Delhi,” he told the audience. Highlighting that Mayawati had done nothing for them during the last five years Rahul Gandhi exhorted the people to strength the hands of Congress (I) by voting in its favour. He assured that Congress (I) will change the face of the state and they will be able to feel the change in just next five years.
