Rahul Gandhi blames caste-based politics for bad state of affairs in UP

Attacking the caste-based political formations in Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that the bad state of affairs in UP would continue as long as the people allow the reign of parties like the BJP, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to continue.

Rahul Gandhi who led the Congress campaign in the populous state of Uttar Pradesh said, “Caste or religion based political parties are hindering growth and development of UP; Congress (I) is the only party, which believes in inclusive growth, can serve the interests of all sections of society irrespective of caste, freed, religion and community. Now, the people of UP are seeking a change and only the Congress can change the destiny of the state in next decade.”

Rahul Gandhi pointed out that under the present political dispensation in UP, the poor were being denied employment and farmers being forcibly dispossessed of their land. When farmers ask for compensation, they receive bullets and are branded as Naxals by the state government, concerned Rahul Gandhi.
