Intensifying his attack on the parties like BSP, SP and BJP for alternatively ruling over the state for the last twenty two years and yet keeping it most backward, Congress (I) general secretary Rahul Gandhi has said his party is determined to transform UP. “Our mission is change the fate of UP,” he said while addressing a press conference in Varanasi on February 6, 2012. He emphasized that his mission is to change the face of Uttar Pradesh. He will not leave till then, he added. “My obsession is not to become PM, but to save UP. UP has lost hope. How do you change a state? You go to a village, you give it hope. We have come to change the lives of the people of UP, not hold negotiations with members of other parties, he said. He highlighted that wherever he goes, the aam admi tells hime that for 20 years, they have been fooled by the government in power. Pointing out that the only way to get over this mess is to change the government, Rahul Gandhi urged the people this time to give a chance to his party to form government and assured that it would transform the state and people would be able to see the change for themselves in five years.
