Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while speaking at a mammoth Congress rally in Allahabad explained the people about the importance of the elections in Uttar Pradesh by saying “This election is crucial not only for your region, but for the entire UP. For the past two decades no proper developments took place in this region. If you compare your state with any other Congress ruled states you can feel the difference. The people of UP go to other cities like Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and even Kerala and help developing those places. Your people work in Maharashtra despite the threats from the Shiv Sena. The people of UP go to Punjab and put in your hard work in the fields”.
“The fault is not with you but it is with the leaders who tied your hands for the past 22 years. The Congress led Central Government sends crores of rupees for this state under various welfare schemes like MNREGA, NRHM and for education. But these funds do not reach you. The poor children here are not able to get the proper education. It is rampant corruption and goondaraj in UP” said Rahul Gandhi.
Boosting the morale of the Congress workers and supporters the Congress General Secretary continued, “I have been visiting various places in Uttar Pradesh and I want to inform you that Congress is going to form the next Government in U.P. The moment we free both our hands, please note that the state of UP will surge ahead off all other places”. “You have the strength and this place is the biggest state. No one has the strength like the power you possess. Only five countries are bigger than Uttar Pradesh. That much strength you have. I have been fighting for the entire people for the state” said Rahul Gandhi.
“I do not care how many seats Congress wins. I have been going to the people and I will continue to do so. I want to assure you that till the state of UP stands on its own feet and till the voice of the people reaches Lucknow, Rahul Gandhi will not move from this place” declared the Congress MP from Amethi.
