I remember that there was no adequate electricity when he was in power” said Rahul Gandhi, taking a jab at SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav’s election promise.
Rahul Gandhi recalled the attention of the people to the the 2004 Lok Sabha elections and said, “During 2004 Parliament Elections, Congress had only promised a government of aam aadmi that works for poor, farmers, minorities, dalits Hindu, Sikh, Muslims, Christians and adivasis and we delivered it”.
Slamming the BJP Rahul Gandhi continued, “But BJP and NDA brought out a slogan in English – India Shining. They were in power for five years. But they did not go to people, farmers, workers, talked to them or enquired about their problems; but blindly believed that India was shining.”
“The people gave them a befitting reply trusted Congress and gave it a mandate to rule,” added the Congress General Secretary.
