While campaigning for Congress in Uttar Pradesh, All India Congress
Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi once again told that that he
will not leave the state till he ensures that UP is on the path of progress
again. Rahul Gandhi said that the people see the Cycle and the Elephant (SP and
BSP) only during the elections.
“The people from UP are forced to go to Maharashtra, Delhi,
Haryana and Punjab for jobs and contribute for development there. When all
other Congress-ruled states are surging ahead, Uttar Pradesh is slipping down.
Both ‘elephant’ and ‘Cycle’ come to you only during elections. For three times
you trusted the ‘Cycle’. You got nothing,” said Rahul Gandhi. “These non-Congress
parties looted the welfare funds meant for the poor. Rampant corruption is seen
across the state. Now this is the time to change” added Rahul Gandhi.
“When I go to the people and interact with them, some
non-Congress leaders term it as a drama. I go to the people to know their
problems and to realize their strength. I want to bring in positive changes in
the state with their help. I want to change the state with the help of the
youth” Rahul Gandhi declared.
