A commotion has been created by the Indian National Congress in Karnataka against BJP leader L K Advani's "Jan Chetana Yatra". The much talked about rally of the BJP entered the party ruled state on Sunday. Parallel to it the opposition Congress staged a rally here countering the saffron party’s latest political venture out there.
The Congress MLAs were demanding dissolution of the Assembly in view of corruption charges against the ruling party leaders. After the conflicting scenario, lot of comments are gushing in from different corners. The opposition leaders are firing on the ruling party owing to the recent land scam of thousands of crores of rupees.
"What moral right does Advani have to speak on good governance and corruption with his party leader and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and three of his cabinet colleagues languishing in jail on graft charges," he said.
Senior Congress leader H K Patil asked Advani to instruct Karnataka ministers to initiate action on former Lokayukta Santosh Hegde's illegal mining report. Another Congress leader C M Ibrahim urged Advani to demand a CBI enquiry into illegal mining report submitted by Hegde.
Opposition leader in the Legislative Council Motamma also demanded resignation of Ashok. She also alleged that the state government was being run by Yeddyurappa from jail. "Sadanand Gowda is running the government at the behest of Yeddyurappa," Motamma alleged.
