Congress (I) has been introducing progressive schemes for development and welfare of the people of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Congress (I) has brought one after another schemes. Mahatama Gandhi NREGA is on such scheme. It has proved boon for rural unemployed people. National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is another central scheme for improving health care services for rural poor. Similarly in the economic field many progressive schemeshave been introduced by Congress (I). Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is such. It is meant to increase the pace of economic development in the country. But in Uttar Pradesh Mayawati’s government misapplied the progressive policies to benefit the rich industrialists. Congress (I) says Mayawati conspired with corporate to grab lands of the poor farmers in the name of land acquisition for public purpose. Thus a good scheme like SEZ which is meant to give upward push to the economic development of the country was misapplied by Mayawati government to retard the economic process in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
