Mayawati worried about BSP leaders’ defection to other parties: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has said UP chief minister is worried these days about BSP leaders switching to other parties in the wake of Assembly elections in the state in early 2012. Maya is already engulfed in number of scams that have rocked her government. Police officers are turning against BSP government for political interference. Administrators are feeling uncomfortable over Mayawati having appointed non-civil service officer as Cabinet Secretary who is not accountable for what he does. State departments are riddled with corruption. Behenji is also worried about MLAs defecting to the SP after sensing that they would not get a ticket for 2012 assembly elections. In the past few months several party leaders, including two sitting MLAs have defected to SP. To check this Mayawati has been throwing sops to her party leaders. It is said she has assured those who would not be able to get ticket would be suitably compensated by other means, said Congress (I). Mayawati’s apprehensions are genuine because BSP is composed of opportunists who may any time switch parties to serve their purpose, said Congress (I).
