Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has accused Mayawati for running the most corrupt government in the country. As a result funds sent by Congress (I)-led UPA government for welfare of poor have been looted by corrupt ministers, legislators and officials. Poor people for whom these funds were meant have been deprived of their rights. For instance, under Janani Surksha Yojana (JSY) which is one of the programs under National Rural Health Mission Rs 1,400 is given to a mother belonging to BPL category for having an institutional delivery. This is done to reduce child mortality and safe delivery in pregnancy cases, said Congress (I). But due to rampant corrupt in Mayawati government there are cases where for the same women time and again the amount have been claimed for having delivered a child every week. Such instances of corruption could not have occurred without the connivance of officials and concerned minister. Congress (I) said this demonstrates the extent of corruption in Mayawati government.
