BSP govt neglected industrial sector: Rahul Gandhi
Slamming BSP chief Mayawati for demoralizing the industrialists in Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that her rule had derailed the industrial growth in the state. She stifled the industrial growth in the state, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing public meetings at various places in UP as part of his Congress campaign in the state recently. Rather than giving incentives to industries for encouraging them to register high growth rate her forcible extortion of money and hafta wasuli has compelled the marginal industrialists to closed down their establishments, added the Congress leader. Many industrial units are shifting their industries to other states, Rahul Gandhi concerned. Rahul Gandhi also pointed out that this situation led to a chain reaction and production has come down sharply. As a result unemployment increased affecting the poor people, informed the Congress General Secretary. This has brought down state revenue collection also, added the Congress MP. Rahul Gandhi ruefully mentioned that Kanpur once known as Manchester of the East has now become junk yard of closed industries. Though the Congress led Centre want an improved growth in the Industrial sector and it sanctioned projects for helping the people and for bring development in the state, non-Congress BSP government did not make the land available for setting up new industries, informed Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi urged the people to put his party on the driver’s seat this time by voting in favor of Congress (I) and assured that it would convert Uttar Pradesh as industrial hub of the country with plenty of scope for gainful employment to the youth.
