Congress will not make promises but will work and show results: Rahul Gandhi

Taking a potshot at the parties like BJP, BSP and SP for showering hollow promises in the past, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi alleged that they delivered nothing. “Congress will not make promises but will work and show results, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a mammoth Congress rally in Agra as part of his campaign for Congress in Uttar Pradesh.

Referring to the poll promises of Samajwadi Party Rahul Gandhi said that Mulayam Singh Yadav had promised he would turn Bundelkhand into Israel; but what Bundelkhand need is water and proper infrastructure, not Israel. Taking a dig at Mulayam for promising free electricity, Rahul Gandhi said as no power plant was set up in the last 22 years from where the electricity would come. Rahul Gandhi also said "When he was the Chief Minister people used to get free bills but no electricity."

Striking an emotional chord with Agra, Rahul Gandhi added “Agra is the Taj of UP, yet it has been ignored by the non-Congress governments”. Assuring the people that Congress (I) will transform UP, the Congress General Secretary urged them to give five years time to Congress. “With your support, we will work for a better future," assured Rahul Gandhi.
