Rahul Gandhi: The credit for MNREGA goes to the poor people in the country

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had recently addressed a huge election rally in Moradabad as part of his campaign for Congress during the last Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The young Congress had again underlined that he has come not for making promises but to fight for a positive change in Uttar Pradesh.

“There is a Congress Government at the Centre from 2004, we came to you and enquired about your difficulties, you told us that there are no jobs available in villages. That is why Congress led UPA central government designed Mahatma Gandhi NREGA,” informed Rahul Gandhi. “By this policy every poor is guaranteed with hundred days of job at a daily wage of Rs. 120,” added Rahul Gandhi. “This was the concept of the people. Congress just implemented it. This scheme is not meant for any particular caste or religion, but for the entire poor. The credit of this prestigious scheme goes to the people who had conveyed the idea it to the government,” argued the Congress leader.

“You visit any of the Congress ruled states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala or Haryana and ask anyone in the villages about MNREGA. They will admit that they have been benefitted by this scheme. But the people of UP could not avail its benefits. Mayawati Ji says that this policy is not beneficial for UP. SP and BJP ask from where we will have the money for the same” concerned Rahul Gandhi. “This money is the result of the hard work put in by the poor in the country. It is the result of their sweat and blood. But it is being looted in UP. They don’t think about the people”, argued Rahul Gandhi and sought the support for the Congress in the state so that UP can bring back its lost glory.
